Long story short, son was in the NICU inside an in network hospital but the NICU doctors ended up being out of network. Last summer my insurance company decided to pay out the claims as in network as I had no other options at the time. While this was only a % of what is owed, they sent me around $7K to pay to the doctors. I cashed and paid them to the doctors. Now, almost a year later my insurance company sent me a letter to say it was an over payment and I owe them the money back and I can ask to be reimbursed by the doctors. I’m in a fight with them already about the remainder of the bill so I would never see that $ again.
Outside of appealing, which I will do. Any other course of action? It’s seem unreasonable for my insurance company reach out a year later to ask me to pay them back.
