I would like to preface this by noting that I am a young (30s) cancer survivor and so I see specialists monthly, have scans every few months and physical therapy right now.
I recently changed jobs from a toxic employer great health insurance to my dream job with terrible insurance. I didn’t realize the specifics of how bad it was until now when I was talking to the major hospital network in my area where I have been for my care for the last 3 years.
My new employer is based in another state and I am one of a couple out of state remote employees and essentially the insurance they offer is good for the region they are located out of (west coast) but not really where I live. None of my doctors are really covered and I have no idea what to do.
I trust my docs and in a situation where my health sucks I value the relationships I have with them. I can’t really afford to pay out of pocket and I don’t even know what else my options would be. I am crowd sourcing any ideas where I can affordably keep my docs, even if it seems unlikely.
Thanks!
