Long story short… I had eight wisdom teeth. Seven were billed to medical and one was billed to dental. The 7th tooth billed to my medical was denied by my insurance, because apparently only 6 of the same code for “boney extraction” is allowed to be submitted on one day.
This was what was on my EOB… “We have denied all or part of this claim. However, you are not responsible for paying the billed amount because you received: – UB – Units Billed are inappropriate for this code.”
Now the oral surgeon office is charging me for the wisdom tooth that was denied. What are my options?
