Switching plans after qualified event

Okay so I’m due to have my baby next week. Through my husbands work we are paying the highest PPO plan with low deductible because it then we only have to pay about $1500 for the delivery. After our baby is here and we make sure everything goes well, we would like to switch our plan to a cheaper one and we have 30 days to do so. This won’t mess up any billing will it? We just want to make sure our PPO plan will be billed for the delivery and hospital stay and not the cheaper plan we will be going with. Can anyone confirm this?
