Creative Ideas Requested! HMO Insurance, forgot referral, huge bill

In January 2022 we switched to Keystone Health Gold Proactive (an HMO). I’m new to HMOs, I’ve always had PPOs. I went to the Dermatologist in March they asked “has anything changed”, “no” (I thought they had my insurance, they never mentioned the insurance name so I never even thought about the need for a referral). I had a few biopsies taken. Fast forward, I receive billing statements from my old insurance company showing Dermatologist is billing them! 😭 Now I just received a bill from Dermatologist directly asking for payment. Any successful creative ways to get insurance to cover OR lessen the bill? Total bill be likely be $700-800
