I turn 26 soon and am obviously getting kicked off my mom’s insurance. My mom (who I was insured under) retired, and her insurance changed early. I received a letter in December that I would lose coverage in the new year, so I started the process to get covered by my job. I then got a letter that I was only partially kicked off early, and automatically enrolled in a temporary COBRA plan (still under her). I want my job’s insurance benefits (SHBP), not this COBRA plan. I got another letter that I lost ALL coverage starting next month. My mom’s insurance portal already says I am not covered. I sent EVERY SINGLE LETTER since December in to the benefitsolver portal, and I always get the same response, “Attach COBRA letter.” I have attached COBRA letters, letters from my mom’s benefits, everything. I can’t get through on the phone to anyone, and I am feeling frustrated and lost. None of my coworkers who turned 26 while here had these issues. I don’t know why this is such a production for me. Does anyone have experience with this? As far as I can tell, I am currently uninsured, despite a great effort to remain insured. Send help.
tl;dr I need to enroll in SHBP and the benefitsolver person won’t accept any of the proofs of loss of coverage I have provided.
