Blood testing with insurance (didn’t cover all of it)- was still more expensive than paying for it privately through a different company. Is this a common experience in the USA? Should I not go to the doctor for blood tests?

Ex: tests cost 800 USD ish, insurance covered around 500. I paid 300. But I could have gotten it more cheaply than 300 through a private company- what the fuck? Have freedom life health insurance

And furthermore the doctor only would allow the order of certain tests. Better to just do it privately w/ a company from now on?

Should I just in general not go to the doctor for blood tests? I don’t really see the point. My insurance covered part of the visit and part of the blood tests -> but it was still more expensive than just getting the blood tests done privately without doing this
