Hi all. I’m insured under wife’s employer plan. She found a new job, benefits do not start until 6/1. We are trying to find out when current benefits will end. Last day of employment will be 5/9.
I just tested positive today for COVID. After reading various posts, I understand I can wait it out until I have an event and then elect to pay for cobra during the enrollment window. Correct? Does the fact I know I have COVID before current plan ends have any issues with preexisting conditions or anything?
FWIW, I feel fine right now, just tired. But in the event things go south in the next 10 days, I want to make sure my wife knows what to do.
