I had a brief hospitalization in February of this year. Back then, Aetna asked them for additional information (i.e., medical records) and didn’t receive it. Aetna told me (twice) that I had nothing to worry about, and that the hospital would either send the records, or I would be off the hook, because it’s their responsibility and I’m in-network.
After two months of waiting, the claim just came back as denied with the note, “This is denied. We previously asked you or your health care provider for more information. We didn’t get it.” It’s showing that I’m on the hook for the total, over $13,000. What the heck happened here?
