I’m a US dual citizen but am heading overseas soon to Denmark, where I’ll be spending the remainder of 2022. (so 8 months abroad, 4 months in the US). I have a marketplace insurance plan here, and I’d like to hold onto it so that I am still covered if I need to come back earlier than expected / when I come back for Christmas, etc. I’m going to be registering as a resident in Denmark once I arrive there.
Are there any rules for eligibility for Marketplace insurance while living abroad? Is there any chance I would get penalized for continuing to keep my US marketplace insurance while living abroad?
