Haven’t gotten a bill a year after ER visit

Hey everyone! About a year ago I visited the ER for an episode of rapid swelling in my jaw.

I was there for about 45 minutes and they ended up misdiagnosing me with facial cellulitis and prescribing me an anti-bacterial that I didn’t need – turns out it was just a calcium build up blocking my salivary glands that ended up passing naturally.

Anyway, I got an EOB about three months later with a charge of $36,000 (lol). I called my insurance and they said they were fighting the charges. It’s been about a year now and I haven’t heard anything from either of them. Is there something I’m meant to do? Is it typical for insurance deadlocks to last this long?

Thanks!
