So, I went to visit an ENT office. Got a hearing exam to eliminate any concerns. The doctor/tech who did the hearing exam showed me that my hearing was good, that doesn’t see any complication. I was charged for that exam separately, which I’m willing to pay given the service I was provided was worth it. After my hearing exam, I met with a different ENT doctor who looked at the results of the exams, looked inside my ears and told me the same thing the previous one did, and told me that there’s nothing wrong. This second doctor, which is the ENT specialist billed me $200 for 10 min of his time and basically did nothing for me. I believe there are different levels of consults, which charge differently depending on the type of visits, in my case I believe I was charged for a TIER 3 or 4 code, when I believe should’ve been lower. Is there something I can do about? Am I stuck with this bill? I left the office almost in tears because I knew those 15 minutes were going to be expensive for nothing. I was almost about to bail the visit with the specialist because the previous doctor who did the exam told me that all seem good, but ultimate it was the specialist last word on that. Can I dispute the visit with the specialist?
PS. I do have insurance with high deductible so basically I’m stuck paying the entire bill myself.
