My PCP recommended I get testing for sleep apnea, I technically have this consult pending. All the short-term insurance plans I’ve seen mention that sleep apnea care wouldn’t be covered – which is fine.
HOWEVER – in the event that I need emergency surgery and intubation, my fear is that this outstanding potential diagnosis of sleep apnea may be used against me as a reason to deny the claim. I had to cancel one of my applications earlier today because the application asked whether I have any pending testing to evaluate for a potential chronic condition, and I didn’t feel comfortable answering “no” to that.
