More questions about student insurance – almost ready to buy

Many thanks to the people who helped me out with my last post, I have been learning and Googling more. I have a better handle of what I’m looking for now I think.

a) most of the student insurance I see are low premiums per month (30 to 50) but high deductibles per visit (100 or so)

I haven’t seen any with premiums in the 4-5k range, which is what I see online. I’m assuming that’s because these are for students?

b) Are those fair rates? I see a lot of plans in those ranges. I also had a Redditor caution me about plans that are not ACA compliant, but I also read somewhere that it doesn’t matter so students, so I am confused.

c) Does in or out of network make a huge difference to payment?

I’d like to be certain of what I’m getting before I pay any money. Thanks in advance for the help and for being a great sub.
