Can I start a new job, enroll in insurance, cancel that insurance within 30 days to trigger a loss of coverage event?

We currently have medical and dental coverage through my first job.

We want to switch to my wife’s job’s medical and dental.

I am starting a second job soon on top of my first job.

Can I sign up for job 2’s medical benefits for a few weeks and then cancel within the 30 day enrollment period so that they send me a loss of coverage letter that we can take to my wife’s job to sign up through her job?

I need orthodontic work and her dental covers it completely after a deductible whereas my plan covers $1k only. And we would not be sad to change medical insurance either.
