If my husband and I were married in Oct. 2020, can we use my husband’s HSA to reimburse any medical expenses incurred by me during all of 2020? Or only after the date we were married?

My husband has HSA money to use, and we just found out that he can use his HSA money to cover a spouse’s medical expenses. I know for tax purposes we are considered married for the year of 2020 since we were married this year. Would this also apply to what we could reimburse from his HSA? Or can we only reimburse expenses that I incurred after the date of our marriage? I can’t seem to find any answers on this. Any advice appreciated!
