I was laid off last year and after my free COBRA ran out in September ,I signed up for federally subsidized ACA for $118 a month with Ambetter.
The ACA subsidies end at the end of December and my January insurance rate goes up to $1094 a month for the same plan! No way in hell I can remotely afford that being laid off.i have a job lined up that should should start in February ,that will qualify me for employer insurance at that time.
My question is this:Do I need to cancel my Ambetter insurance at the end of the month or will it cancel automatically if I don’t pay the new insurance rate? I’ll take my chances for a couple of months with no insurance instead of paying a $1094 a month.
