This is my first time having health insurance in almost a decade and basically my first time actually using it. I have bright healthcare Super Bronze 3 which from my understanding is not a great insurance provider but it was all I felt like I could afford. So I’ve been trying to find a therapist that accepts my insurance, $0 mental health is listed in the name of my plan, but so far the website that I usually use doesn’t have bright listed in the dropdown to search by insurance provider. so I went to my providers website and went through their list of in network mental health care providers in my area, I emailed the four that actually have listed experience with the issues I need help with and two have already emailed me back to tell me that no they do NOT in fact accept bright healthcare.
so is there a better way to find in network mental health care that I’m not aware of? or am I just f****d because I chose this provider? if that is the case is it too late to cancel my plan and sign up for a different one? also is it even legal for them to say they pay for mental health care if nothing is actually in network and they don’t pay for out of network?
