Hi All, I am new to this sub so I apologize if this has been asked before (I searched and could not find anything in the sub history.)
My husband (primary) and I have had Aetna insurance through his work for the last 2 years. Since the start, I cannot access my own EOBs on the app or the website, but my husband can see everything.
I have contacted their customer service multiple times over two years without resolve and today I was told a new piece of information that seems pretty shocking, if not illegal. Three different people told me today that Aetna’s policy is to NOT share EOBs with anyone but the primary account holder and this CANNOT be changed on the back-end. Their solution is for me to log into my husband’s account (despite their privacy policy saying to never share your login information) and find my medical information/EOBs that way.
Can anyone help shed light on this? This has to be illegal, right? My medical information HAS to be made available to me, yes? How do I get this fixed?
Please help. THANK YOU!
