I wanted to reach out to both warn all of you on AETNA and get advice on how to get my 10 year old daughter suffering from Neuropathy issues to continue treatment for IVIG. After recent nerve pain she was admitted to a nearby children’s hospital and given 1 dose of IVIG which greatly helped her. The effects were remarkable. We tried to schedule follow up appointments to continue treatment and they denied coverage saying that its benefits were ‘under review’ before denying follow up. Over the last 3 months I have had to painfully watch my beautiful little girl’s symptoms come roaring back while the insurance company fights appeal. Any one have this experience? Why are AETNA so insensitive to my Childs needs given we have Neurologist fighting diligently on my Childs behalf and more importantly where do we go from here?
thanks so much
