I had an endoscopy done earlier in March. I just noticed that my health insurance received 4 separate billings for this and I owe ~$1200 more than I was quoted by the facility. Is this a normal breakdown of costs? (I am on a $1250 deductible PPO plan with United and have not met my deductible yet)
Separate charges for:
Procedure itself conducted by physician including biopsy
Anesthesia
Lab results of biopsies
The kicker is a separate (very expensive, not covered, not quoted to me) charge for outpatient services. Am I dumb for thinking that would be included in the procedure costs? Is this just facility fees? Is there anything I can do to fight it?
