Assistance On Insurance Bill

Hello,

(Meant to say assistance on a medical bill, not insurance bill).

I was wondering if I could please ask for this community’s assistance and if you could share some of your knowledge.

I’ve had a weird body rash now for a couple weeks. I did a virtual visit with a doctor who recommended I visit an Urgent Care facility back in November. The Urgent Care facility wasn’t too concerned but ordered the following blood work and covid19 testing to be done,

Laboratory Total: $744.00

80053 CMP $306.00

85025 CBC WITH DIFFERENTIAL $99.00

86140 C-REACTIVE PROTEIN $53.00

85652 SEDIMENTATION RATE $61.00

87635 COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS DETECTION ASSAY AT UCSD LABS $200.00

Add-on code for COVID19 screening tests from lab meeting timeliness criteria $25.00

On my insurance breakdown, it shows that the insurance was billed $200 for the covid19 testing. They paid $102.90 and provided a plan discount of $97.10.

The rest of the tests are all lumped together for $519 billed, $0 paid by insurance, and a plan discount for $251.97.

Looks like I’ll be responsible to pay the rest of the $519 which is $267.03.

I don’t know if this helps but under the claim it says,

“Claim Codes:

Your network physician or health care provider has agreed to the plan discount. The discount shown is your savings for using a network physician or health care provider. You have not met your deductible and owe the amount shown. (UG)”

This was a surprise bill to me and was not expecting to have to pay anything. I had already paid $40 for the Urgent Care visit and was not aware the blood work would be separate. Anything I can do? I feel lost. as I was thinking everything would be covered by my insurance.
