My boyfriend need health insurance and he is self employed. What is the best one? He needs something that does not have ridiculously high co-pays so he can go to the doctor occasionally, have decent co-pays for prescriptions (he gets 2 a month currently), and be referred a specialist and have testing if needed. He currently had a plan that is over $300 a month and has a $9k deductible and does not cover anything until that deductible is met. And even what is covered once that deductible is met, is limited. He does not meet the income requirements to get help through anything related to Obamacare or anything like that. Is this really what medical insurance has come to? I have Medicaid because I am Disabled so I haven’t had to shop for insurance in years. I’m not sure what other information you need from me to get a better understanding of what he needs, so don’t hesitate to ask if I haven’t give you enough to really know what will suite him best.
