Best health insurance option for a newborn child born to unmarried parents in Florida. Mom has Medicaid, dad has employer provided insurance.

This is all hypothetical:

Unmarried parents having a newborn son in Florida. Mom has Medicaid due to low income. Dad has health insurance through his employer. Parents live apart at beginning of pregnancy, but now live together. Mother quits her job at 35 weeks pregnant. Newborn child is born at 37 weeks, and is eligible for Medicaid for one year.

Does the newborn remain eligible for Medicaid for the first year now that the housing and employment circumstances have changed?

Will the mother lose her Medicaid?

Does it make sense to enroll the newborn in the Father’s health insurance at an increased premium (Employee plus one, nearly double the premium) or to leave the child on Medicaid?

How does his affect tax filing status of mother and father? (not expecting an answer, but would appreciate a redirect).
