Long story short my wife had a severe medical condition and had to be transported from one in network hospital to another via helicopter. Unfortunately the helicopter is out of network. I got the EOB from my health insurance and of the $49,145.23 cost for the helicopter bill my insurance only paid $4,216.27. I assume I am going to get an almost $45,000 balance bill from the helicopter company which I have no ability to pay without causing significant financial pain. How do I fight this or am I just sentenced to financial ruin?
