I travel most of the year, so any medical expenses will likely be incurred well outside of my home state (GA). The ACA marketplace plans for my state are all HMOs, which I understand typically have networks associated with limited geographic areas. Assuming any medical needs I were to have would involve an urgent care or ER visit anyway, is it better to just to assume I’ll be out of luck when it comes to typical insurance needs and just go with a high-deductible plan as a backstop against catastrophe? Or are there reasons in this situation to consider higher-tier plans?
