[CA] Just signed up for Covered CA, can I change eligibility criteria?

My contract at my job is not being renewed and I am going to lose my benefits from the 1st of April.

Today, I signed up for a Kaiser Silver HMO plan via Covered CA. I input my current monthly income etc on the website, but I selected “am losing job within 60 days”, but the website didn’t allow me to prospectively put April 1st as the start day.

Anyway, I paid the monthly premium, but then I got a notice from Covered CA listing that I do not qualify for the cost sharing benefits because I make over the minimum income etc.

The whole point of me getting the insurance is because I’m going to lose my job and benefits through my employer from the 1st – so I will effectively have no income come April 1st. I assume I would become eligible for some benefits or possibly lower premiums, which is what I was trying to select prospectively by signing up beforehand as I don’t want to be without health insurance and my employers COBRA premiums are around 1300 bucks.

Is there any way I can alter my monthly premium rate now that I’ve already selected and paid for my plan?
