This is for the us- Florida. I hope the title makes sense.
So let’s say you used to be married to a doctor. After the divorce, you started your own private individual health insurance plan with a different company. You no longer have any contact with your ex and you don’t want them knowing your private health info, including who your new insurance coverage is with. How much privacy do you really have?
Meaning: 1) can your ex through his office software look up who your new coverage is with by just inputting your name and bday as if they were verifying it because you were going to be a new patient? If not, what other info would they need?
2) and if they could, could they look you up even if your new plan is not a company they accept?
3) can they look up your insurance coverage by looking at your medical labs through a national company like quest?
4) what other ways could they find your insurance info or medical records? Assuming you don’t go to any hospital or medical networks they know of.
5) is there any way to safeguard against this and ensure your privacy?
