I got hired with a large call center and in the benefit handbook it stated benefits will start after 30 days of employment. I signed up for the extra plan and even on my confirmation page the start date was in 30 days. After working 3 weeks, I just received email stating it won’t start until 90 days. I asked HR and they said it changed and they are working on updating the benefit handbook. Can they do this after the fact? I feel so mad, really needed to get to the dentist and know that it takes up to 6 months after benefits starting for dental insurance to even cover anything major. Not to mention I have health problems and need monthly medications.
