I got recently married. My spouse was Medicaid eligible before the marriage and was on Medicaid since the beginning of last year. She is no longer eligible for Medicaid as our MAGI is above the limit.
I want to add her to my employer’s group medical policy as marriage is a qualified life event, however, it has been a hassle for her to unenroll from Medicaid. She called the Medicaid customer care and her local Medicaid office but no one responds nor calls back, she also reported the change on the website a week ago but there was no feedback.
While we wait for someone to unenroll her, could I add her on my insurance or should we wait until she’s off Medicaid first? We are in Michigan
