Today is my last day of work. I don’t know what COBRA benefits will cost yet.
I can join my spouse’s company plan but would like to weigh the costs between COBRA and that plan before deciding. I’m told I have 30 days to sign up on my spouse’s plan but no one can tell me if coverage will begin when I sign up or on May 1st. My spouse’s plan is kind of pricey.
Before the 30 days is up, can I sign up for COBRA and then cancel it and sign up for my spouse’s plan? I realize I would have to pay for that month of COBRA.
