Can I get dental insurance through Obamacare if my job offers only medical insurance?

Please understand, I’m a complete idiot when it comes to insurance.

I had amazing medical, dental, and vision insurance up until my company sold my department to a new company, and now I have much worse medical insurance, and no dental or vision (a lot of other things are terrible too). I will have cobra until may 31st.

I have no idea how this stuff works because my previous (and first) insurance was so good I never had to worry about it.

I know that I do not have dental with this new plan. Someone I know said I should get Obamacare/Badgercare (I live in WI), to cover dental insurance that I am missing, and keep my crappy employer medical insurance.

I did a little looking and I’m not even sure if I’m eligible for such a thing or if it’s even possible to get just dental from Obamacare/badgercare?

I make less than the 400% poverty level, but more than the 250% poverty level. I am single and am no ones dependent and do not have kids.

My coworkers were looking at private Cigna for dental insurance, but my dad thinks it would be a waste of money for me to get dental insurance. I do not know if the Obamacare/badgercare is cheaper, because I have no idea if I’m even eligible/it is something I could look at?

I’m just worried that despite never having one I’ll have a dental emergency the second I get off cobra.

The new company does give us an HSA (the new deductible is $3000) and they put $1500 in it over the course of one year I guess. My previous insurance my deductible was $250 I think.

As an aside for the medical insurance, when I was one my dad’s insurance before I had amazing insurance, my prescriptions cost WAY too much money, and then when I was on my old jobs amazing insurance, the prescriptions were very doable. So I guess my prescriptions will cost an arm and a leg again?

Thank you for any help to this idiot who knows nothing about insurance. I did read the FAQ through but this stuff is just so confusing
