I was on a leave of absence due to medical stuff. While on leave, I had a brain MRI which found lesions and scheduled a neurology visit which was months out. I found out that my medical insurance/coverage is inactive due to nonpayment of premiums, which I have since overnighted to benefits department. The neurology contact called last week to see if I had new coverage and I explained the situation. They said if I don’t have replacement insurance by a specific date then they’ll have no choice but to reschedule. Could I pay out of pocket and still have the visit? I don’t know what to do to fix my mistake but I’m in pain and really scared?
