My son had some pretty major oral trauma when he was about 2 years old which has lead to some complications now. His dentists says he has an infection and recommends extraction ASAP. Insurance says they don’t cover sedation, even though it’s not even IV or full knock-out, just oral solution and gas to relax him.
How can Insurance say that an extraction can be performed on ANY 5 year old without any kind of sedation, let alone a child that has major anxiety due to previous trauma?
Can insurance be reasoned with here, is it even worth calling them to see if we can come to an agreement?
Thank you!
Edit, sorry adding details, Child is aged 5, 77583, single income 52k family of 5
