Hey folks! I have a question regarding Medi-cal and I’m hoping someone can help me.
I recently immigrated to the states and my mother wanted me to enroll into an insurance plan. When she filled out the application through the covered California website, she listed me as unemployed, which makes sense since I just moved to the U.S and I still have not gotten a job and I was eligible for Medi-cal. However, I do not want to be enrolled into Medi-cal since my mother petitioned for me to immigrate to the states and by law she is financially responsible for me. I would like to cancel my medi-cal coverage immediately because I’m afraid this might come back and haunt us both later down the line and I don’t want us to get into any trouble for fraud or anything else. What is the best way to do that?
