Hi everyone!
I am in the middle of open enrollment with my school district, and I am thinking about changing my plan, but I’m not sure what I should do.
Currently I’m on the Copay Gold plan. I have $32 taken out each check, but there’s no deductible, my doctor visits are only $24, and my prescriptions are $15. I went with this plan because I was planning on having bariatric surgery, but I’ve lost so much weight I’ve decided not to do it. I also rent a BiPAP machine for sleep apnea as well. I see my PCP twice a year at the least, and my specialists include my sleep specialist, my dermatologist, my podiatrist, and my therapist which I am actually discontinuing soon anyway. My mediations include losartan for my blood pressure and modafinil for my narcolepsy (this is the one that concerns me because it’s an expensive Medication).
The other two plans my employer offers are a $1500 deductible plan, but my school district deposits $1500 into an HSA over the course of the year and nothing gets deducted from my check. The other plan has a $240 deductible and doesn’t take money from my check. The copays are comparable to what I’m paying now, but hospital stays are billed at a percentage as opposed to a flat copay.
I know there is a lot more information that I left out, but I feel overwhelmed trying to figure everything out. Feel free to post any questions that you may have.
