I am 30 and recently left my full time job to start my own business and I have multiple side jobs on the side so income has stayed stable. But I am looking to choose a health insurance plan since I am not covered by my job anymore. I have looked at COBRA through the hospital I worked for, and I am also looking at the marketplace. I have no major medical issues and I live in Illinois.
Does anyone who is self employed or working without coverage from their employee have suggestions on plans I can look at that don’t break the bank but offer decent coverage?
I’ve been doing research on high deductible plans, cobra as I mentioned before and general options on the marketplace. I just want to hear from someone with experience prior to making this decision. Thanks!
