Good morning all. I’m a 58 year-old male and am designated disabled by Social Security (Parkinson’s disease.) My COBRA is ending on 9/31. I’m investigating a continuation of COBRA through the remainder of the year as I qualify for Medicare on 1/22. I was told by my old employer that unless I was designed as disabled by the fed within 60 days of my COBRA ending that I don’t qualify for continuation. Is.this true? I was officially designated as disabled on 7/30/19. Thanks for any help on this matter.
