So I’m going to be turning 26 in a couple of months and I’ve seen that those who age out of their parents’ health insurance are often able to get COBRA coverage through their parents employer. My question is regarding the fact that my parents have switched to independent contractors and are already receiving COBRA coverage currently. They’ve been on it for about 18 months now I think. I’m curious, Am I then eligible for COBRA coverage when I turn 26 for another 18 months or whatever the time period is? I’m in New York btw.
