COBRA renewal & Lack of Notice

Hi. In Oct I left my previous job/employer in IN. I elected to take COBRA until I’m eligible for my new jobs plan because financially it works for me.

I paid my premiums ASAP and through November. I signed up for the COBRA providers website as soon as I got the info.

Come early/mid Nov, I kept logging in because the site said to “check back for Dec Premium Amount at a later date.”

Come Nov 22 I had still not been given the Dec premium amount so I emailed the COBRA Provider.

Turns out previous employer is going with a new insurer and I was never given any info.

Current COBRA provider says I need to contact my previous employer as COBRA provider is no longer being used come Dec 1.

I contact my previous employer and to get to the point, they did change insurance, never told me, but my benefits will be “rolled over to some COBRA Plan” – that I have not gotten info on still – plus I have no idea what the costs will be.

Tomorrow is 12/1. I have medication I’m going to need to fill come the 2nd I need to survive.

My question is —

Once I renew COBRA can I file a claim for any excess costs ie for prescriptions?

Isn’t this wrong that I don’t have any info yet or at least wasn’t told anything?

Thank you.
