I went on a leave of absence and subsequently lost my coverage through work. I didn’t know this until a few days ago when I received a third-party (Calperss) letter informing me my coverage was retroactively canceled to March 31st. HR didn’t send me the paperwork until I emailed them, and I am hitting the 60-day deadline in 4 days. When I asked about cobra and the American Rescue act, they pretended not to know what I was talking about when my psych hospitalization is a qualifying event. They continue to talk to me in circles and are now suggesting that I go through my spouse’s insurance (which wouldn’t work anyway because it’s kaiser). Any suggestions on how I should proceed?
I need my meds too 🙁
I live in California.
