Confusions on Work injury + Personal Insurance

My spouse can get insurance thru her job, but we have her using the insurance provided by my job because its much nicer. Unfortunately, she injured her back at her work, and so had to go thru her work’s insurance/workers comp. It definitely sucked – but her back got better and the case was closed and all working restrictions for her were removed.

Fast forward a month or so, and now she’s hurt her back again while going on a run. We’re concerned that if she attempts to get treatment under my insurance, they will refuse to pay out and claim that this injury is due to the original work injury – is this actually possible? Is there anything we can do to ensure this is not the case? Back issues can be very problematic and I’m concerned as the providers used by her work are really bad and don’t do much to help her.
