Coordination of benefits – Did I mess up?

In the beginning of this year, I signed up for employers health insurance (which is pretty crappy with a high deductible). I’m also under my parents insurance which has no deductible as my secondary insurance.

I realized that I was supposed to have all my doctors charging my new primary insurance (work insurance), but I realized too late, so a bunch went to my secondary insurance. I just logged into my secondary insurance’s website and I see a bunch of claims from various doctors where my secondary insurance is asking for a explanation of benefits (all from 2022).

Right now, I’m reaching out to all those doctors offices and having them resubmit the claims to my new primary insurance.

My question is: How does the coordination of benefits work? If my primary insurance has a $1000 deductible but my secondary insurance has no deductible, does my secondary insurance cover cost as if I just put in the claim directly to them? My concern is that because my primary insurance sucks (I’m working on cancelling it asap) with a high deductible, I’m worried that my secondary insurance might not pay it and I’ll be hit with a huge bill.
