My mother is intending to retire at age 60 and will not be eligible for Medicare until age 65. What are her best options for a good, affordable plan? Who should she talk to? The main providers available to us in NJ are Aetna or Horizon. She could also look at the marketplace -but the high deductible plans aren’t great, I think? She needs single coverage for the next five years. She’s relatively healthy -not overweight, etc. Not a smoker or drinker. She did experience an autoimmune disease awhile back but with some weight loss it seemed to mostly go away.
Thoughts on best coverage options?
