COVID vaccination admin fee?

I just got my first shot today at my doctors office and one of the workers said that I may get a admin fee because someone else was billed $75 for it. She explained to me that what is in the vile is “FREE,” but the administration of it is not.

Is this considered Preventative Care? I have UnitedHealthcare insurance through my employer and preventative care is completely covered.

I tried to do some digging on the site to find more info and it’s a bunch of medical insurance language I don’t understand, haha. I just want to know if i’m going to have to pay out of pocket for it.

I should’ve gone to somewhere like CVS or Walgreens because I haven’t heard of them charging a admin fee.

If I do get billed, is there anyway to fight this?
