Currently in NJ, pregnant and moving to NY

Hello, i have been self employed for 2 years. Recently i landed a full-time contractor gig but it of course doesn’t come with benefits. My son is 3 and i have been paying for his expenses out of pocket. He’s thankfully never sick so it’s just checkups and boosters etc. I just found out i am pregnant and because this job pays so well, i can now afford to buy a house. I miss NY so i am looking to buy there in the next month. I currently live in NJ. If enrollment closes the move will trigger special enrollment in marketplace so i’m not worried about that.

I have never NOT had employer healthcare so i’m at a loss as to what i should be looking at. When i lost my job after i had my son, i was on medicaid (my sons pediatrician didn’t take it so i paid out of pocket for him.)

i am 44 years young so i anticipate needing many tests and checkups as i’ll be categorized as high risk and a hospital stay for me and the new baby this year. I will not live in NYC but i will likely have my prenatal care and delivery there. What plans would be best and will i be able to be on separate plans from my son? I’m guessing my 3 year old will not need the same level of care as i do.
