I’m currently on a high deductible (with HSA) insurance plan offered through my work. I recently started a prescription for PREP through an online provider, who has covered the cost of STI testing and the drug itself, as long as I went through their providers.
My insurance received a claim from the pharmacy saying I paid $1500, meeting my in network deductible. This cost was not paid by me, and I verified with the pharmacy to confirm the prescription was paid.
Should a cost I didn’t pay count towards my deductible? I want to avoid the possibility of this being a clerical error and having to pay back any medical procedures I have using the lower copays.
