Denied claim – unproven procedures

I had to get a cardiac monitor a number of months ago. My insurance company (UHC) denied it because my “plan only covers proven procedures…you or your provider must submit scientific evidence that shows this service is safe and effective for your condition”

My provider has already tried once to submit evidence. They are following up with them to submit more. However I’m really nervous that it’ll stay denied. Has any one else dealt with this type of denial? Is there anything I can do to speed this up or prepare for the day if it’s denied a second time?
