I got a re-treatment after a previous root canal. The re-treatment was priced at half the rate of the root canal.
However when the dental office submitted the claim to my insurance, they coded it as a root canal – instead of a re-treatment, and set the price for the root canal – instead of the half-price.
I got a check in the mail now for the root canal and for the price of the root canal.
What do I do now? Should I call the insurance company?
Or should I tell the dental office to resubmit the claim?
Or both?
I just want to protect myself and not get accused of anything or have my coverage dropped on suspicion of anything by the insurance company.
Thank you for reading.
