Hello again, I’m finding the Maryland health connection website a bit confusing and not clear on everything. My spouse has a marketplace bronze plan with carefirst, I used to have a UHC plan under my parents, but my dad lost his job, and I didn’t like the plans my work offered, so today I just went on the the marketplace and added myself and my spouse to the Carefirst Gold plan together. Since I’m enrolling after the 16th it says coverage doesn’t start until October 1 and enrollment status as initiated. But does that mean I just made it so my spouse no longer has any health insurance until then? On the homepage of the Maryland health connection site under current enrollments it has both of our names with coverage start dates of October 1st 2021. If you click on previous enrollments you’ll see just my spouse’s name with it saying coverage start date of January 1st 2021 and enrollment status saying change in enrollment. I would have thought my spouse would get to keep their current one until the new one started, I didn’t think it would make them suddenly lose insurance for over a month, They have several doctors/therapist appointments scheduled next month that we can’t afford out of pocket. I wish this was made more clear on the website.
